The Nigerian singer Dudukehas returned with the year’s first recorded solo track called ‘Duduke’. After her latest collaboration with Ladipoe where the duo launched the single “Know You,” a soothing and light head-nodder about loving someone you might not know that well. “Duduke” is the latest track released on the label Studio Brat, Simi’s own record label.
“Duduke” is a classic Afrobeats mid-tempo number with just enough bounce to carry you to the dance floor. The mellow track created by the talented Oscar is basically an onomatopoeic piece of playing the sound the heart of the artist makes while she feels her passion. The stringed instrumentals as well as the different drums create an undeniably infectious rhythm.
Simi took some serious steps last year. Following the release of her third studio album, Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol. 1, she officially parted with her label X3M. Both Simi and the record label made the seemingly amicable decision to not renew her contract and the Nigerian singer-songwriter went on to establish her own imprint, Studio Brat, that same year.
