Train and transport fares in Lagos are reduced by 25%

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, has reduced by 25% the fare for state-regulated bus and rail transportation.

This information was announced on Monday by the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority via a statement on its X page.

Los Angeles authorizes a 25% fare rebate for regulated bus and rail transportation, according to a statement signed by Kolawole Ojelabi, head of corporate communication for LAMATA.

“In response to requests for the reinstatement of the 50% fare rebate for regulated bus and rail transport, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has issued a directive to commence the implementation of a 25% fare discount on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023,” the statement continued.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu announced a 50% fare reduction on regulated bus and rail transportation on August 2, 2023; the promotion expired on Sunday.”

“In response to requests to the Governor, the passenger fare reduction of 25% for regulated bus and rail transport services has been extended until further notice.”

“During the rebate’s three-month duration, the price of diesel at the pump increased by approximately fifty percent, from N867 in August to N1,300 in November 2023.”
