A suicide attack in Borno killed six people and injured several others

On Saturday, a bomb blast at a wedding location in Tashan Mararaba, Gwoza town, Borno State, killed at least six people and injured many more.

According to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, the bomber, later identified as a young woman in her early twenties, detonated her explosive device in the center of the crowd, causing chaos and destruction.

According to intelligence sources, the casualties were all civilians returning from a wedding party when the attack took place near a large motor park.

According to reports, emergency personnel were dispatched to the spot to rescue those injured and take them to Gwoza hospitals.

According to one of the sources, medical professionals at the hospital reported at least six deaths and fifteen injuries in the incident.

Speaking to reporters in Maiduguri, the state capital, Borno State Commissioner of Police (CP) Yusuf Lawal confirmed the incident, stating that it was carried out by a female suicide bomber.

According to Lawal, the Divisional Police Officer in Gwoza informed him that at least six persons had been killed and 15 others had been transported to the hospital.
