Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, was summoned for interrogation by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday night.
Peter Afunanya, the agency’s Public Relations Officer, issued a statement confirming Bawa’s arrival a few hours ago.
It was noted that “the invitation pertains to investigations concerning him.”
Bawa was suspended earlier in the day by President Bola Tinubu for serious allegations of official misconduct.
He was instructed to promptly turn over his office to the Director of Operations at the Commission, who will oversee the Office of the Chairman of the Commission until the investigation is complete.
