Eid-el-Kabir: FG announces June 28, 29 public holidays

Wednesday, June 28, and Thursday, June 29, 2023 have been announced as public holidays by the Federal Government.

Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja. He said that the declaration is in honor of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir holiday.

"In the spirit of this special day, when we remember Prophet Ibrahim’s (Peace of Allah be upon him) great qualities of obedience, sacrifice, and faith, Muslims and all Nigerians are asked to make sacrifices for the growth and development of our communities and our great country, Nigeria.

She said, “We hope that the prayers and sacrifices that go along with this big holiday and the message of Eid-ei-Kabir will bring peace, unity, and progress to Nigeria.”
