Eid-el-Kabir: Tinubu offers prayers in Lagos, emphasizing the significance of sacrifice

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to demonstrate greater compassion towards their neighbors and extend acts of charity to all, embracing the true essence of Eid-el-Kabir.

During a conversation with journalists following Eid-el-Kabir prayers in Lagos on Sunday, the president emphasized the need for sacrifice to propel the nation towards progress.

In a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, it was mentioned that after Eid prayers, Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to dedicate their time to the progress and welfare of the country.

The Chief Imam has provided us with guidance on how to embrace the path of sacrifice. The sacrifice expected of a responsible citizen. Being a citizen entails certain obligations. What actions should we take to become dedicated members of our society as citizens? Indeed, that is the epitome of sacrifice—wholeheartedly loving your country. Embracing the importance of community. Sharing what you have with each other. The President expressed gratitude to Almighty God and emphasized the importance of always being thankful.

In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Suleiman Oluwatoyin, emphasized the importance of showing more love, sacrifice, and care for the poor and vulnerable. He led the prayer and delivered a powerful message.

Many great leaders, such as Sir Ahmadu Bello, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, and Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, made immense sacrifices for the growth and development of our country. Their every endeavor and deed was focused on the noble task of constructing a strong and prosperous nation.

We must make sure their sacrifices are not in vain. We must strive to emulate their example to ensure the continued growth of our nation, Nigeria," he said.

The Chief Imam of Lagos called upon citizens to offer prayers for the President, asking for divine strength and wisdom to fulfill his vision for a more prosperous and improved nation.
