End of An Era, as Microsoft sets to shut down Internet Explorer on June 15

After 27 years, tech giant, Microsoft, will officially be shutting down Internet Explorer on the 15th of June 2022.

The company announced in May 2021 its plans to retire the iconic browser.

The shutting down means that any window user relying on the browser will have to upgrade to Microsoft Edge to be able to access the Internet.

Sean Lyndersay, the Microsoft Edge program manager, stated that "the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 lies in Microsoft Edge."

The company said that not only is Microsoft Edge a quicker, more secure and more contemporary browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it also addresses a crucial concern "compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications."
