Federal Government of Nigeria assures 2023 elections will hold despite pressing insecurity issues

The Federal Government of Nigeria has assured they will do everything possible to not just see that next year’s elections hold, but to also secure the country following the rising insecurity issues in the country.

The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed disclosed this at the Federal Executive Council meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, he assured the election would also be free and fair.

" Yes, it is true that some groups have been worried and concerned on whether given the state of insecurity in the country there can be elections next year.“

I can assure you there will be elections because the Nigerian government will do everything possible not just to make sure there is election but to secure the country,’’

“I’m sure you heard yesterday from the president that military commanders have been given everything they needed and they have been given all the powers to bring this insurgency and banditry to an end,” The minister said
