Today Tuesday, four individuals narrowly escaped death when a helicopter crashed in the Oba Akran neighborhood of Ikeja, Lagos State.
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon near a United Bank for Africa branch in the area.
It was determined that the helicopter was being used for training when it collided with a building and caught fire.
The incident was validated by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services.
Amodu Shakiru, a spokesperson for the agency, stated that the occupants sustained injuries of varying severity.
He stated, “No one was killed when the helicopter plummeted into the building. The helicopter is being used for training with four people on board. During the routine training exercise, a motorized escort team followed them on the ground in accordance with standard procedure.”
“The motorized personnel arrived on scene first. The occupants sustained injuries of varying severity and are currently receiving medical care. We will provide further information later”.
