Chelsea caretaker manager Frank Lampard has praised midfielder Enzo Fernandez as the club’s “future.”
The West Londoners would believe they had struck gold when they signed Fernandez from Benfica for a club-record cost of £107 million.
Despite the fact that the club is not in the best of form, the Argentine usually puts in a decent effort on the pitch.
In the midst of criticism, Lampard praised his performance on the field.
“He’s a fantastic talent,” Lampard told the media. “It’s incredible for a young player to achieve what he has in this football season.”
“It’s a difficult time for him to come to the club, but it’s a challenge that will help him grow.” He is Chelsea’s future."
The Blues will finish the season with nothing and a considerable chance of not qualifying for Europe next season, as they now rank 11th with 39 points.
Their season, though, will continue when they meet Brentford on Wednesday.
