At its IT Symposium / Xpo 2019 conference in Orlando, Gartner announced the top 10 strategic technology trends for next year.
According to the organization, the strategic technology trend is one that has the potential to disrupt the industry and have a broader impact and use.
Unlike last year’s trends, this year’s trend does not fall into analog, digital or mesh categories, but instead is organized around “people-centric smart spaces” or technology that will impact people and places they live in, Gartner said.
The top 10 trends for the next year are
- Hyperautomation
- Multiexperience
- Democratization of expertise
- Human augmentation
- Transparency and traceability
- The empowered edge
- Distributed cloud
- Autonomous things
- Practical blockchain
- AI security
