Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, is a cook from Nigeria. She beat the 96-hour goal and now has a 100-hour record time.
At the moment, supporters at the cook-a-thon challenge at the Amore Gardens in Lekki are sharing videos of themselves cheering on the young chef and praising her for reaching the milestone.
Hilda was supposed to stop at 4 p.m. today, which would have put her 96-hour goal ahead of the person who currently holds the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual.”
The chef from Lagos, Nigeria, started the race on Thursday when she turned on her stove at 4 pm. On Monday morning, she beat the current world record holder.
If she gets the record after 100 hours, she will beat the current record holder, Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who did it in 2019 by cooking for 87 hours and 45 minutes straight.
