The House of Representatives today honoured the CEO of Air Peace on the account of voluntrily sending aeroplanes to evacuate Nigerians in South Africa after the recent xenophobic attacks in that country.
He had a private meeting with the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila. He was then admitted into the Special plenary session in his honour and was accorded a standing ovation by the members of the Green Chamber.
The Speaker noted that he’ll be recommending Chief Onyema for higher National honours.
“We have to honour the man who responded to the call of service to the country. We witnessed the faces of our brothers and sisters being reunited with their families, the emotional scenes brought about by only one man among many men.”
– Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker, House of Reps
