The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board set a new date for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, announced this Sunday in Abuja. Benjamin said the April 29 UTME would now start on April 25, 2023. He stated the board would hold its rescheduled mock-UTME on April 18, 2023.
JAMb held its 2023 Mock-UTME on Thursday, March 30, at 725 centers nationwide. However, technical issues prevented some students from taking the exam.
The board’s mock exam tested its and its partners’ UTME readiness and gave prospective candidates a chance to sample the CBT test atmosphere.
He said the mock exam was rescheduled for Tuesday, April 18, to give candidates who were unable to sit for the exam due to no fault of their own the chance to take it.
He said candidates who were present and screened but could not sit for the exam would retake the mock exam on April 18.
The board also moved forward its 2023 UTME from Saturday, April 29, to Tuesday, April 25. He claimed the UTME was moved to meet other important national duties. The board expects this will allow all citizens to exercise their civic duties. The board cannot move its exam because other public exams are scheduled to start in early May 2023.
