Lagos’ Accord Party supports governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s re-election. The party’s candidates also resigned for Sanwo-Olu and all APC candidates in the March 18 polls.
Oladele Oladeji, AP’s chairperson in Lagos said AP left the Labour Party (LP) because of how its members were handled after the presidential election. He said Peter Obi’s LP victory in Lagos was a collective effort by all tribes in the state, not a solo effort as some have alleged.
He said AP supported Sanwo-Olu’s re-election because of his success, showing the party was unbiased but seeking competent leadership. He said his party backed Sanwo-Olu for his huge achievements in Lagos because it didn’t want to sacrifice the administration’s achievements for bitter politicking. He asked AP members and Lagosians to vote for APC candidates on Saturday.
AP gubernatorial contender Peter Obayuwana said he dropped his bid for the governor because of his COVID-19 fight and other infrastructural improvements.
Obayuwana said AP did not collect or beg for money for the endorsement.
