Rasmus Hojlund, a striker for Atalanta, is allegedly going to be signed by Manchester United in a deal worth an initial £64 million.
The Denmark international is the third big player to join Manchester United this summer. Mason Mount, a midfielder from Chelsea, and Andre Onana, a goalkeeper from Inter Milan, were the first two.
United is thought to have decided to pay £64 million ($82 million) for Hojlund, plus an additional £8 million for add-ons.
The 20-year-old is said to have signed to a five-year contract with a sixth-year option.
After a season in which United lacked a cutting edge, boss Erik ten Hag wants to add more strikers to his team.
The Red Devils came in third place in the Premier League, but they only scored 58 goals, which was 36 less than the winner, Manchester City.
Hojlund joined Atalanta in August 2022. He played in 34 games last season and scored 10 goals.
United’s first Premier League game is at home on August 14 against Wolves.
