Mason Mount, the most recent addition to Manchester United, has played his first game for the Red Devils.
Wednesday marked the beginning of preseason for the Manchester-based club, and the debut of the England international.
The English midfielder participated in Erik ten Hag’s 2-0 victory over Leeds United in Oslo.
This month, the 24-year-old moved from west London to Old Trafford for £55 million.
He played for the first 45 minutes and showed glimpses of brilliance during the first period.
Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho were joined by inexperienced players Kobbie Mainoo and Omari Forson in Ten Hag’s starting eleven.
Mount created a great opportunity in the 10th minute by passing in behind for Amad Diallo to set up Hannibal Mejbri, but Leeds goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson made a clever save to deny the Tunisian.
Moments later, the England midfielder was again involved, regaining possession before attempting a 25-yard chip over Klaesson that landed on the apex of the net. The goals for the Red Devils were tallied by Noam Emeram and Joe Hugill.
