Lionel Messi, the star player for Inter Miami, has once again made MLS history. In his team’s impressive 6-2 victory over the New York Red Bulls at Chase Stadium on Saturday night, Messi set a new record for the most goal contributions and assists in a single match.
The former Barcelona forward showcased an exceptional performance, contributing six goals and five assists, solidifying his status as a league superstar.
This impressive achievement by the Argentine player is truly unprecedented in the history of MLS. He has managed to score and assist in six consecutive league matches, showcasing his exceptional skills and impact on the field.
When discussing Messi, Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino couldn’t help but commend his player’s exceptional performance, labeling it as a significant moment in MLS history.
“All the goals were crucial to the game, but Leo achieved something truly remarkable tonight with five assists and one goal,” Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino said during his post-match interview.
However, Suarez’s three goals and Rojas’ two goals are still fresh in my memory. The first goal, or rather both goals, but particularly the first one by Rojas, was absolutely incredible.
However, Luis Suárez’s scissor goal would have to be my personal favorite because of the technical skill that Leo displayed on the assist.
