New Olowo-Elect has emerged

Prince Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye has emerged as the new Olowo-Elect of Owo Town in Ondo State.

He got 14 votes out of 15 votes cast by the 15 senior Omolowos, who have sole responsibility to select king for the ancient town.

There were 17 contestants in all. Prince Olateru-Olagbegi had only one vote while the remaining 15 contestants scored zero votes.

Oba Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi, the last Olowo of Owo Town died earlier this year, in April.
