Nigeria was one of the last three teams in the running for the 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s National Team of the Year award.

The last three candidates were announced by CAF on their X handle on Thursday.
The other two are South Africa and Morocco, which won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations last year.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup was held this year in Australia and New Zealand. Teams from Nigeria, Morocco, and South Africa played.

All three made it to the round of 16. Spain won the event.
The winner will be named in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, December 11.

Also, Nigeria’s Super Falcons just recently qualified for the 2024 WAFCON, which will be held in Morocco.
After beating Cape Verde 7-1 overall, the Falcons will be going to the event for the 13th time. The first one was held in Nigeria in 1998.
