Newly Promoted English Premier League team, Nottingham Forest have signed Nigerian youngster, Taiwo Awoniyi for a club record fee.
The Super Eagles forward, joins the reds from Bundesliga Club, Union Berlin, signing a 5-year deal at the Cuty ground.
Awoniyi is Forest’s first international signing since they got promoted to the Premier League last month.
The Nigerian joins the Premier League side following an excellent season in the German Topflight, with 20 goals in 43 games across all competitions for Union Berlin, and 15 goals in 31 Bundesliga games.
Speaking to the club’s offial website after joining, Awoniyi said;
" I’m very excited to be here at Nottingham Forest,” said Awoniyi following his move to The City Ground. “It’s always been my dream to play in the Premier League and having spoken to Steve Cooper about our ambitions and looking at Forest, with its great history, it’s a club that I want to be part of."
