The senator representing Imo West Senatorial District in the Red Chamber, Rochas Okorocha, raised an alarm about the high level of illiteracy in the northern part of the country.
The former Imo State Governor who was afraid to have legislators from the North who could not speak English to the Senate Chamber. He called for an intervention in the region’s education sector.
Okorocha also reported that the northern region’s illiteracy has a significant effect on other parts of the country.
