PDP grieves for Dokpesi

The High Chief Raymond Dokpesi’s passing has shocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was his political party.

This was said in a statement made by the party’s national publicity secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, on Monday in Abuja.

The PDP family is heartbroken by the passing of High Chief Raymond Aleogho Anthony Dokpesi (Ezomo of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom), one of its leading lights, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC), media tycoon, statesman, and patriarch of the Dokpesi family.

"High Chief Dokpesi was a talented and resourceful entrepreneur who was consistent in his selfless sacrifices towards the unity, stability, and growth of our great Party and the country as a whole. He was also an astute and devoted Partyman.

"As a patriotic Nigerian, High Chief Dokpesi used his media empire, which included Ray Power FM, Faaji FM, Africa Independent Television (AIT), and other outlets to advance the cause of national development. He also encouraged greater and more accessible access to information nationwide, promoted good governance, boosted economic growth and development in all important sectors, and exposed our country to opportunities and attention on a global scale.

He was a detribalized Nigerian who prioritized the interests and welfare of his country above all else and made countless significant contributions to the political, economic, and social landscapes of our country.

"Chief Dokpesi’s passing is unquestionably a tremendous national loss and a shock to the PDP family.

The PDP expresses its condolences to the Dokpesi family, the Daar Communication Group, the government and people of Edo State, the Weppa-Wanno Kingdom, and the Edo PDP family. It then prays to the Almighty God to give everyone the strength to cope with this tragic loss and to grant High Chief Dokpesi eternal rest in His bosom.
