Obi, accompanied by state party officials, committed 5 million naira to each local government area in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi, which are hosting displaced individuals searching for sanctuary.

He pronounced his astonishment and denounced the assaults that resulted in casualties and property damage, emphasizing that the government ought to fulfill its duty of safeguarding lives and property.

Obi cautioned against the influx of Nigerians seeking asylum in their country as internally displaced persons, a circumstance he deemed intolerable and requiring government intervention.

On Christmas Eve, gunmen invaded over 15 communities in the state’s Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas, resulting in the deaths of over 190 individuals.

On Sunday night, the assailants successfully ignited several dwellings. The men, armed with firearms and filled with fear, not only slaughtered the inhabitants but also devastated properties and destroyed farm produce. There have been no claims of responsibility from any group regarding the tragic attack.
