Real Madrid has issued a statement in response to speculation that club president Florentino Perez will resign.
In the past two days, the rumor circulated on social media that Perez was purportedly considering resigning as president.
In a statement, however, the La Liga giants stated, “These rumors are categorically false and are motivated by interests that have nothing to do with reality.”
Since 2000, Perez has served as president of Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have won six Champions League and six La Liga titles under his leadership.
However, he has also received criticism, not only from fans but also from officials, with former referee Iturralde Gonzalez speaking out about a confrontation he had with Perez this year.
