President Bola Tinubu appointed six new executive directors to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency and the Nigerian Ports Authority on Thursday.

Each organization is a division of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, issued the following statement on Thursday: “President Tinubu appoints new executive directors to the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy agencies.”

Dimitri Abu Dhabi appointed Vivian Edet, Olalekan Badmus, Ibrahim Umar, and Olalekan Badmus, Marine and Operations, and Engineering and Technical Services, respectively, as executive directors at the NPA.

He designated Jibril Abba as the Executive Director of Maritime Labor and Cabotage Services, Chudi Offodile as the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, and Fatai Adeyemi as the Executive Director of Operations at NIMASA.

Ngelale asserts that the President sanctioned the appointments under the strong conviction that “the newly appointed officials will effectively and promptly carry out their combined responsibility to establish the circumstances necessary to substantially increase the Marine and Blue Economy sector’s contribution to the national gross domestic product.”

Tinubu further anticipates that the newly appointed officials will oversee the conversion of “the Nigerian economy into a labor-intensive and inclusive one that generates fresh prospects for every Nigerian in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda, under the leadership of Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.”
