The Third Mainland Bridge is to be closed by FG for maintenance

Due to maintenance, the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos will be closed, as announced by the Federal Government.
On Thursday, Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, issued a statement confirming this information.

Kesha stated that the establishment will be closed for maintenance from Sunday, October 22, until midnight on Saturday, October 21.

She stated that the government was prepared to initiate extensive bridge rehabilitation efforts, commencing with the necessary corrections to the critical sections.

Kesha, nevertheless, urged drivers to comply with the directives of the traffic management authorities and observe all diversions to ensure a smooth traffic flow.

She advised drivers to utilize alternate routes whenever feasible throughout the restoration period.

“However, in preparation for the comprehensive repairs, the Ministry will perform palliative works on the most critically damaged sections along the Adeniji-bound carriageway on Sunday, October 22, to alleviate the current suffering on the bridge,” Kesha explained.
