The United Kingdom prohibits visitors and employment for international students

Students from Nigeria and other countries are not allowed to bring family members with them on any course save for those involving postgraduate research.

With net migration exceeding 500,000 from June 2021 to June 2022, the government has prohibited foreign nationals from using student visas as a means to illegally enter and work in the United Kingdom.

It reaffirmed its support for the International Education Strategy, which helps the UK’s economy by attracting international students.

The government has made it clear that the graduate route’s terms will not be changing as it announces new reforms that will take effect for students in January 2023.

The United Kingdom has pledged to work with the higher education sector to find solutions that will allow top students to continue bringing family members.

In addition, students will be prevented from changing their visa status from student to work status before they have finished their studies.
