The appointment of a substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been approved by President Bola Tinubu.
According to Sahara Reporters, the new Chairman is Hakeem Odumosu, a retired Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police.
Odumosu’s appointment is contingent upon his Senate affirmation.
Wednesday, Tinubu suspended the former anti-corruption agency chairman.
According to a statement from the presidency, Bawa was suspended “to enable for an investigation into his conduct while in office. This follows a serious allegation of official misconduct against him.”
Subsequently, the Department of State Services (DSS) invited Bawa for interrogation.
