Williams defeats Tobi Amusan to win the 100m Hurdles World Championship

Thursday evening in Budapest, Tobi Amusan was defeated by Jamaica’s Danielle Williams to lose her 100-meter hurdles world title.

Williams, 30, who had previously won in Beijing in 2015, clocked a time of 12.43 seconds to edge out Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico (12.44sec), with Kendra Harrison of the United States claiming the bronze (12.46).

Nia Ali, the 2019 champion, and Amusan, who finished sixth and last, respectively, were never in contention.

Budapest, Hungary is presently hosting The World Athletics Championships.
