World Cup Qualifier: Intense pressure as Nigeria and South Africa settle for a 1-1 draw

The Nigerian Super Eagles and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana played to a 1-1 draw in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifier.

The team, under the leadership of captain Wilfred Ndidi, showcased Nwabali in goal, while Ajayi, Bassey, Tanimu, and Osayi-Samuel formed a solid defensive line.

Dele-Bashiru, Iwobi, and Ndidi formed a formidable midfield trio, while Iheanacho, Lookman, and Onuachu spearheaded the attacking line.

Based on the results, Nigeria’s position in the table will be fifth out of six teams, following three matches in the 10-match competition.

Nigeria has drawn all three of their matches so far.
